The following section contains the GMAP Website Privacy Policy. 

This Privacy Policy is aimed at individuals accessing our website “www.gmap.com”. This Privacy Policy provides an overview of what personal data GMAP controls, how we obtained it, how we use it, and how it is protected in regard to the personal data gained from through our website. At the end of the document, we also provide details on your rights as an individual regarding your personal data.

    How do we receive information about you?

    We currently collect and process the following information via our contact forms:

    • Company Name
    • Job title 
    • Contact details e.g. email or telephone
    • The message you send 

    We also use cookies when you visit our website to collect the following types of data:

      How we store your information

      If you send personal information via our contact form, the data is securely stored in our customer relation management (CRM) software using a third-party service. The data may be used with Microsoft Office 365 applications when we are communicating or documenting products or services, we are providing. 

      If you don’t want your data to be on our CRM database or would like to limit the use of your data e.g. stop Direct Marketing, please let us know at the address above or using optout@gmap.com 

      Cookies are stored on the pc of the user accessing our website and which communicate with the web server hosted by our third-party supplier.

      We retain the contact information that has been sent via our website using the following criteria:
      • It is required for the purpose(s) for which we legitimately use it i.e. retain your personal information for as long as necessary to promote or provide our services, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations. Retention periods will be determined considering the type of information that is collected and the purpose for which it is collected. When its applicable outdated, unused information will be destroyed at the earliest reasonable time.

      We use cookies and other technologies in our related services, including when you visit our site or access our services.

        • Client or Supplier business name the individual is part of

          Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you or your company because you are an employee with one of our clients, prospects, or suppliers.

          We may obtain contact information from public sources for example social media websites like LinkedIn, so we can get in touch with the individual about our products or services that would be relevant to them.

                This Privacy Policy is aimed at individuals where we have processed their personal data on behalf of our clients. This Privacy Policy provides an overview of what personal data GMAP controls, how we obtained it, how we use it, and how it is protected in regard to the personal data gained from our clients. At the end of the document, we also provide details on your rights as an individual regarding your personal data.

                  What type of information we collect

                  Our clients may on occasion provide us personal data that we process on their behalf. This could include the following:
                  • Name
                  • Postal Address
                  • Contact details e.g. email or telephone
                  • Other associated data e.g. vehicle information such as car registration or products purchased

                    How we get the information and why we have it

                    The personal information we process is provided to us directly from our clients so they can better understand the data they hold about their customers and prospects. In turn this is to provide a better service to you as consumers e.g. targeted marketing, locating services where they are needed etc.

                    Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information will be one or more of the following: 
                    • Your consent
                    • We have a contractual obligation

                      What we do with the information we have

                      We use the information that our clients have given us to:
                      • Facilitate in the provision of a product or service back to the client, this could include data validation / improvement, attachment of other variables to provide further characteristics about the type of customer the client has e.g. location data such as nearest store or service our client may provide, another example could include the use of demographics e.g. census.
                      • Sometimes a client requires a very specific service, and we occasionally may involve third party organisations in the processing of the personal data for the service our client has requested. 
                      We do not rent, sell, or share the user information with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy.

                        How we store your information

                        Data is held in securely in our file servers / computers within databases or other applications. Sometimes this data is stored in cloud-based applications such as Microsoft Azure.

                        We retain the Consumer personal data that has been sent by our client using the following criteria:
                        • It is required for the purpose(s) for which we legitimately use it i.e. retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide or support our services that have been requested by our clients.
                        Retention periods will be determined on case-by-case basis but in most cases the Consumer personal data in will be destroyed / wiped from our software within 2 weeks of a completed service.


                          Your Data Protection Rights

                          Under data protection law, you have rights including:
                          • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. 
                          • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. 
                          • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 
                          • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances. 
                          • Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
                          • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
                          You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
